ABOUT GRILLED CHEESE Grand prix

Grilled Cheese Grand Prix is a new tasting event solely geared to making local food fun again within our community! Our aim this first year is to bring Northwest's top chefs from the best restaurants, food trucks and pop-ups under one roof for a laid-back, irreverent playful food and drink festival. It’s a celebration that showcases the ideas, creativity and enthusiasm that pays tribute to the almighty grilled cheese that has been a childhood favorite in America and beyond.

Founded in 2017 by Ryan Reiter (Mobile Food Rodeo, Seattle Street Food Festival, Taco Libre Showdown, Seattle Outdoor Cinema) Grilled Cheese Grand Prix is the first ticketed spin-off from the Seattle Street Food Festival that began in Capitol Hill in 2011 to bring a focal point to authenticity and celebrate regional cuisine by local chefs curbside in an informal celebratory street fair. Now in it's 5th year, SSFF is West Coast's largest international food festival hosted in South Lake Union annually over 5 blocks with a Night Market.

Since its inception, SSFF has donated more than $25,000 to local charities and has helped generate raised over $4.5 million in revenue spread over 500 micro-businesses organizing over 100 festivals, street markets and pop-ups like South Lake Union Saturday Market and Fremont Sunday Market year round. Entering its sixth year, Seattle Street Food Festival's goal is to explore the Northwest food scene through smaller, ticketed tasting events like the Grilled Cheese Grand Prix that are big on taste on not on crowds. In the past, SSFF has been featured as one of North America's Top Food Festivals and Destination by Wall Street Journal, Eater, Tasting Table, Relish, Thrillist and praised by local media, including Seattle Met Magazine, Stranger, and Seattle Magazine’s and Seattle Times.
